December 16th - Thanks to the Jaycees that helped Saturday assemble food
boxes at the Salvation Army.

December 14th - Thanks to everyone that volunteered to ring bells at JCPenney
and Theisens.

December 10th - Veteran's Holiday Party.  The Veteran's Christmas Party was a
great success.  Over 100 Veterans received gifts and enjoyed the program.

December 9th -
Santa Saturday - Over 250 kids attended this event this year.  It
was a great success.  Each child made a craft, ate breakfast, got a picture with
Santa and took home a goody bag.  Thanks to Wal-Mart, the Noon Kiwanis,
MCBD, Wells Fargo, and the Salvation Army for their partnership.

December 2nd - Thank you/Holiday Party at the Stadium 7:00PM - We had a
great party Saturday for Mike Horn as he ages out of the Jaycee organization as
a local member.  Mike was recognized as a Jaycee Senator for all of his
dedication.

Holiday Shopping - Sunday, November 19th at 5:00 PM - Jaycees shopped for
Iowa Veteran's, residents at the Southridge Nursing Home and kids in need of
Christmas gifts.  Thanks to everyone that helped.

Weatherization project Saturday, November 4th.

Congrats a total of 1,734 people went through the forest this year!!!  Thanks to
everyone for all there help.  A huge thanks to the
River's Edge for the location!

Weather slowed things down a little our second weekend, but we still managed to
get another 390 people through the forest.  We still need a lot of help so come
on out the 27th, 28th and 31st.

The Jaycees had a great opening weekend at the Haunted Forest.  580 people
survived the forest.  If you were not able to help there is still 5 days left, bring a
friend and help add to the scare.

Congrats!!  Miki & Jason Helton had a baby boy Tuesday, October 3rd.  His
name is Jay Curtis Helton. He weights 9 lb's 11oz according to Jason he is a
moose.

Congrats!!  Josh & Laura Vander Ploeg had a baby boy at 11:04 a.m. Monday,
September 25.  His name is Cooper Kristopher Vander Ploeg, and he is 9 lbs. 3
oz. and comes in at a lengthy 22 1/4 inches.

Haunted Forest at the River's Edge begins October 13th.  Work begins Sunday,
September 10th.

Oktemberfest Parade - Saturday, September 23, 2006 the Jaycees walked in the
parade promoting the
haunted forest.  Over 1500 fliers were handed out to
parade goers.

Night Golf September 15th, 22 people enjoyed a great evening of Night Golf at
Lincoln Valley in State Center.  

Iowa Jaycees were in Marshalltown, Saturday, September 2nd from 9AM to 1PM
for a planning day and candidate announcement.  Check out the

Cornstock - A music event featuring 10 bands was held at the Rivers Edge just
north of Marshalltown on Hwy 14.

Over 75 people attended the Focus on Marshalltown community forum on
September 6th.  Jaycees had a good representation and helped express the
concerns affecting young people today.

ALL-STATE Update:  All-State was held July 28-30 in Marshalltown.  Almost 100
Iowa Jaycees were in attendance.  Marshalltown Jaycees received a number of
awards and/or recognitions.

3. Chapter award for top Governmental Project for the Candidate Forums
4. Michelle Spohnheimer - First Timer recognition
5. Michelle Spohnheimer - Top local member - 2nd Quarter

Congratulations Robin Angstman, Ted Lewis, and Michelle Spohnheimer
for being selected as on the top 30 under 40 according to the Marshalltown
Times Republican.

July 9th - 15th was the
Marshall County Fair.  Thanks to all members that
helped hand out ice cream Thursday and sell glow necklaces.    

July 9th the Jaycees helped at
Relay for Life on July 9th.  Thanks to all the
members that helped early Sunday morning.

BBQ Championship June 23rd - 24th in Marshalltown.  This was a great event
the Jaycees made just over $600 in tips and bottle redemption.

May 20th was the annual
Sand Box Fill.  Thanks to Cessford Ready Mix and
Concrete Inc for their donation of time, trucks, and sand.  Over 50 wheel barrows
of sand were unloaded across Marshalltown.

May 20th
MY-LOTS was held in Marshalltown for fellow Jaycees across the
State. John, National Vice President discussed ways for local chapters to market
themselves to potential members.
